On Asides

I am so sorry that I haven’t posted new entry on this site for days. It’s been quite busy lately and my health is failing (again… duh!). However, I did make some improvements for the blog its self such as links (as you can see above) and will continue on making those improvements.

I’m excited with what Asides can do actually but can’t installed it just yet. I’ve tried to use many Asides plugin but none of them worked for this template I’m using (plus, none of them is customizable anyway). So… anyone out there can help me? (FYI: for all I know, logically you can make an aside simply by editing your PHP loop, but I’m just too lazy to do that hehehe)

have you try to switch ur theme with K2 theme?
It provides asides option. better check it out if you don’t try yet.

@difa: Actually, I have. Not on my main blog though, I’ve tried it on my testbed blog located here: http://testbed.permagnus.com/

K2 is the most advanced theme in WP, I think. Not only asides, but there’re so many things well-prepared and of course AJAX-thingy ;)

he euh… rada hese euy masang asides…..

@Yup, and I also loved how Kusaeni modified his template :)

@Rendy: Iya agak susah, tapi ada kok pluginnya (yang sayangnya non-customizable).

Sorry, I’ll answer your last comment at mine right here.

Ozzie, maybe one of the problems is you’re using WP 1.6 Alpha as the engine in your tested blog. K2 is ‘just’ fully support for WP 1.52.

Activating Asides in K2:
1. Go to Presentation in your Admin
2. Select K2 Options (under the admin main menu), in case you’ve selected k2 as your main theme.
3. There would be: K2 scheme -> live search ->…-> Asides: choose inline or sidebar asides (suggest: inline), and then choose what category (in the drop down menu) you would make it works as asides. Note: you have to prepare one category that you’ll make it as asides (e.g: asides or something else) first.
4. That’s it

Non customizable? Hm… I don’t think so…we’ll see ;)

http://kusaeni.com layout? I think is not his original theme. I saw his layout 3 three days ago still with k2 original with a little bit touch on the header. But you could see http://davidbabylon.com. If I’m not wrong, Kusaeni would be inspired by that K2 scheme called ‘Vader’ :)

UPDATE: Aarrgh…David has changed the layout once again ;)

UPDATE: If you want to see how the K2 vader scheme applied, just look Eric’s now. Actually, Vader scheme was made by Michael itself.

@Budi: With uncostumizable, I’m not referring to K2 theme. I’m referring to WP Plugin called simple aside where we cannot update how the plugin display Asides. We have to manually hard code the files if we wanted to do that (and what’s the point of plugin anyway)
