And Away She Goes, Here Comes the Mac
I just sold my laptop yesterday night. I felt very heavy to part with her and on the same time feel very relieved. Heavy because she’s been with me for almost a year and had done everything she can to do what I’m doing as smoothly as possible. Relieved because now I’m free from bug-ridden and virus-poluted Windows (which by the way is getting slower and slower each day and need reinstalling every few month or so)
Some of you have advised me to clean and reinstall the laptop (which I did) and it runs smoothly just like new but alas, the dark side has seduced me. I’ve sold her to a friend last night and now on the market to buy a new MacBook (Pro — but I don’t have enough money for this one).
It’s pretty weird because I don’t come from artistic background to utilize the full power of an OSX (music, video, and such) nor do I come from a scientific background to utilize the full power of Darwin (your own UNIX mainframe… woohoo!). But then again, I’ll mostly go with Parallel to do my Windows-only work (trade, investment analysis and the such) and Macintosh for the rest (writing, browsing, reading, etc).
So the question now is which MacBook? This one or that one? I’m going to use it mainly as my working platform (trade analysis, writing, college work, light photo editing) so Core2Duo 2GHz is more than enough. I’m leaning toward the black Macbook, although looked very much like a plain Wintel laptop, is more scratch-proof and easier to clean. What do you think?
