Finding the Holy Grail

I’m currently on my personal quest on finding the right setup for my next trades. My previous setup only give me abysmall return if any and hence, I’m pushed over the top to find ‘the holy grail’. Well okay, there’s no such thing as holy grail since the market is always changing and dynamic, but still, what I’m trying to find is a system that can deal with those.

So I think I’m off for two weeks (a semi-hiatus probably) and when I get back, I’ll share some of the secrets with you guys. So far, it’s showing an on and off progress (meaning the method that I’m using now works under certain conditions and break on other conditions — the conditions that I must pin out what).

This means doing back testing (yeah, I never good at that) onto several strategy (do you know a cheap, if not free, backtesters out there? I wanted to use Metastock but that’s very expensive), reading more books, and shut my self out of mailing lists and trading ideas site (to shut out the noise apparently). See you guys around!

Finding the holy grail??? forget it … no holy grail whatsoever on stock or option trading so to speak.

You must choose strategies that suit your trade style, discipline to do the homework and trade wisely.

Remember, any stocks or options we buy/sell have 50/50 chances to go up or down. Indicators (trend following and oscillator as well) are just make our “chance” better, but at the right edge of the screen, …. that’s the hardest place to make decision.

Too many analysis could make you paralyzed ….. believe me, I’ve been there!

Hello Gerald,

Don’t worry, I’m aware that there’s no such thing as holy grail (and I state that on my post). What I mean with ‘holy grail’ here is my perfect setup.

In the past I trade using fundamental analyst, although profitable but it’s not keeping me safe from market fluctuation (I recall May as the worst month that wipes out the rest of my profit). That’s why I’m looking into Technical analysis a bit deeper and finding a perfect setup for it.
