Web for Human
Okay, maybe this is another web 2.0 post, but maybe not. It’s just that I felt compelled to write that web 2.o is not just about AJAX and all the javascript worm toiling down your browsing experience without any direct relations to enhancing your web experience beyond the “Wow†effect. We forgot the single thing that made web 2.0 is the better version of the web, the better understanding of technology that evolves with human as its center. It’s not about what technology it uses, it’s about how that technology can be used for better experience for human.
And that’s why I feel that the whole net pretty much forgot how important it is to create something that is understandable by human. Making something human understandable rather than machine readable. It’s all about structure and that structure is called Microformats. They are pretty much left behind when all the web 2.0 is crazed on the use of new technology for the web.
On top of that, there’s an initiative called Structured blogging that has a mission pretty much the same as microformat (since they are using microformat to do a “structured bloggingâ€), presenting information to human as organized as possible without sacrificing the human understandable part.
For me, this is actually a breakthrough because in the end, it’s not about technology at all, it’s about functionality and how to deliver better functionality for humans as part of the revolution of the web.
