Anything, One Click Away!
Apart from my main role as a blogger and a university student majoring in financial management, I also do some stock market investment. Nothing big, just enough around $10,000 (which is pretty large sum of money from where I came from). I put $2.5K on my savings and the rest goes to the stock market.
And since stock market is a very fluctuative business, I need to be well informed in every of my decisions. It’s costly to buy a software that can do a real-time tickering and sms you everytime the stock goes up or down. I simply can’t afford that. And there’s where internet came along.
It amazes me still until today how internet can make your life easier and really ‘flattened’ the playing ground. I can go to Yahoo! Finance and set up my portofolio and see my detailed report complete with blitzy graph all for free. I can also look up for expert’s analysis everywhere on the net, some are very accurate if you know where to find it :-).
It seems that the small guy does indeed have a chance… thank you internet!
