Quick Post On “Google Is Not Web 2.0″
Just a quick post and addressing some of the comments (and emails) regarding my previous entry. Here are some comments and my (additional) arguments:
- Google uses AJAX extensively. Yeah, so what? Web 2.0 is not about java script worm scrambled everywhere. It’s about usability where users now have power on driving the content of the site. Google doesn’t have that kind of service
- Google Base is one of web 2.0 service. I strongly believe they just rip it off from craiglist or zvent
- Google pushes new level of collaboration and interactivity. How? How is that possible? By their email system? Yahoo does that long time ago. By their mailing list system? Yahoo done that long time ago (not that I’m a big Yahoo fans).
