An Open Microsoft

Microsoft has just released their newest technology called SSE, a bidirectional form of RSS. The best part of it is that they released this technology for free under Creative Commons license. What does this means?

For me, this means that we can expect so much to come from Redmond. They have finally embraced the power of the people over their usual propietary policies, the very thing that made them out-smarted by Google.

Furthermore, they have to realize that it’s not about how good the program really is, but how useful it can be used by your user. And the only way that this can be possibly done is by giving the power to the people. I think in the near future we will see how Microsoft roles out more products that let more people to contribute without the hassle of worrying about the licensing.

And most likely with the gradual development of Live, we will soon see how Microsoft in the end will use the full potential of the so-called “People’s Power” because this is the business model of the future. A Google rival in the making?
