Virtually… Everything?

I stumble upon a quite interesting news about the creation of AI-based virtual lawyers (too bad I forgot the link). Lawyers that can participate in the courtroom not in-flesh and can perform better and cheaper than a traditional with-flesh and all-suit lawyers. This reminds me of Thomas Friedman and his book “The World Is Flat“.

He said that Americans (and the rest of developed countries) are losing the war. Jobs are outsourced elsewhere with a sweat-shop-like salary. If you go to India, you can find doctors doing remote surgery for luxurious hospitals thousand miles away. You can find tax-consultant doing your 401k documents. And all with half (or less) the price in developed countries.

That, and the emergence of a better AI is maybe the doom of humans!

Technology apparently, can backfire. When they can find an AI smart enough to advocate your law affair (of course there will be problems, but let’s just assume that will go through), in the future they can replace nearly everything. From using AI on robots to replace office boys and using technologies to replace executives.

And although this is far-fetched, maybe (well… it’s of course a possibility) in not so distant future, you can have a software using a set of algorithm and artificial intelligence to take over all of your business administrative and in the end, rendering you useless. It’s spooky but that might happen…
