Redesign: Done

It’s done alright, except for the last couple of bits such as the header that’s too big (and too common), I’ll change that later on. But one thing for sure, I announce that the redesign of this blog is finished. I liked the color tone although it could be better if I have more time to do it (next redesign for sure).

A couple of last minute changes includes the color of the text which I made darker and link text that I made also a little darker. All thanks to ruanee and also Inoel for their help to point those out. I figured out that it’s actually not a background problem, rather it’s a contrast problem between the background and the text. It’s easier to change the css color of the text you know :-).

I also thanks Eric who helped me on figuring out how the aside css works (although we hit the wall there hehe), I’m looking forward for our next project ;-). Again, thank you all for your input during the redesign and if you don’t like this design, you’ll have to wait for another several months before I change it ;-). Have a nice day! PS: I’ve just found out that CSS is a fun thing to play with!

congrat’s 4 the design! but the texts on the header (i mean the menus) seem so hard to read…

@amalia: Yes, I think that’s the problem with opacity. I already make it to 75% but seems that it still just as transparent. I’ll try to make it 85%.

enhorabuena, buen hombre del trabajo!!!

this is simple, I mean you are only change the background image , and asides , didnt you?

dan untuk header image sepertinya saya pernah lihat, dimana ya? lupa atau mirip dengan punyanya John Hicks?

Heh… maksudnya apaan tuch?

Here’s the list of what I changed: background image, header image (will do), callout, and CSS, including some simple aside hacks. CSS includes the font tonation, backgrounds, etc.

Wondering where the header came from? Here, I’ll give you a hint: http://permagnus.com//2005/10/27/live-redesign/

On and for amalia: I’ve changed the opacity to 100%, will play with it later after I get a new header.

hati2 semua yang di css zend garden, ozzie telah datang ^^
btw kok headernya nggak muncul ditempatku?

Iya, headernya itu gede banget ukurannya dan kadang - kadang jadi ga muncul kalo koneksinya ga stabil. Nanti deh habis lebaran diganti.

good job! ;) hey do you use css for the opacity?

Very good redesign…bikinin buat gw dong…hehehehe

@amalia: Yup, I use CSS for the opacity. Simply: opacity:0.85; but since that doesn’t solve the problem on Firefox, I then set the opactiy to 1 (we could also use “solid” for this one)

@Mala: Hm… boleh, mau warna apa nih? Lagi keranjingan belajar CSS :)

Warna hijau mau gak bikinin…..

@Mala: Sure thing, but later after Lebaran, okay ;)

okay

Huhuhu, ada yang lagi keranjingan CSS :) You definitely must buy a CSS book where you can unlock all the CSS mystery. In the future (I don’t know when) every sites should be using CSS rather than tables. Back to writing codes, Oz? :)

@Eric: Yup I’ve bought some CSS book alright. Will post about that later on this blog. Hm… no hardcore coding please, just the usual XHTML and CSS2 only. It’s better for me to write more content hehe.

Hey, this just popped up to my mind… why not implementing GoogleMap on your commenting system so you can pinpoint the exact location of your commenters. It can be done via GoogleMap API. Does Wordpress already have this kind of plugin? If not, I might as well write it if I have a chance…
