Live Redesign


No, it’s not a re-design redesign. I’m simply copying a css files and a header image from here, so nothing extraordinary. I have yet to syncronize the css of my Google Adsense and adding a callout for the comments. Further ahead, I thin I’ll just replace the header image.

To add to that, I think I’ll also mess with the css files a little bit further which will include on using a different sets of colors for asides and the common post. All this won’t be finished until I get home on November 6th because I don’t have much computing power here.

So tell me what do you think? Is it too bright (because it is for me, I like it darker like the old one)? There will of course be some css modifying in the future but I’ll use this css file as a development base because I’m not a css whiz. So, again, tell me what you think?

i like it this way though. it’s light.
in the former design, it’s too dark when i viewed it from several computers in campus and i couldn’t read most of the comments until i blocked the letters.

Overall, it’s cool Ozzie…more bright…more calm :)

I’ve got some suggestions:
1. Your tag line becomes too long because the appreance of new header.
2. Your menu tabs is still blur. It’s hard to see. Anyway good opacity plays!
3. The hierarchy of semantics, like the color or tone of the post title and the content. I suggest you to make differences.

I think, you’ve known all about that…wakaka ;)

Budi: I want to add #3: the colors of the links. Which one is actually a link or not, which one is already visited. Ugh, look at me, I’m starting to talk like Jakob Nielsen :)

Oz: I think you need to work a bit on that header. If it’s done, I believe it will be cool :) Cheers!

@seven: yes, on several monitors it’s really dark on the previous one. It viewed really fine at my place. That’s strange.

@Budi: Yep, thinking about a new tagline :); Really? Because I thought the menu is already doing fine. It’s viewed allright here. Probably I’ll take a look into that later; Yes, I’m planning to make some changes for the css code especially the one who differentiate between the title, content, and asides. I really liked how Chris J Davis do on his aside and since Eric also implemented that, I already asked how. Check back tomorrow :)

@Eric: I would, but I don’t have enough computing power at my parents house. It’s true that they have a fast DSL line (hum… internet freak family anyone?) but the computer is total crap. Can’t do any heavy image modifying here. I’ll do the header (the image that is) after I get back to Bandung.

I like round corner in your header now. But, is it Kubrick or K2? *joking*

Come to think of it, it does indeed looked like Kubrick :). And with the AJAX comment and live search gone, it’s pretty much Kubrick anyway

iyeeeeeeeeeee , saya sekarang juga sedang ganti kulit tapi belum apa2 dah benwit limit exceed wa ha ha ha.

bagus , jadi meng non aktifkan AJAX dan RSS livesearch? bagus - bagus kok wa ha ha ha ha cuma headernya gak leoad disini.

Kus: Iya, file-nya emang gede, sekitar 120-an. Masih bawaan style yang lama. Mau ganti header tapi di sini sekarang lagi engga ada computing power yang sanggup.

I think it’s very great design too bright, but it’s ok! Better than before, full dark..hehehee

@ruanee: Ini lah susahnya ngedesain. Di beberapa monitor desain yang ini terlalu terang. Di beberapa monitor juga, desain yang kemaren terlalu gelap. Padahal ini putih standar loh. Hm, ada usulan warna css buat background-nya apa?

@Goz: Ah, gw kan ga ketombean :P
