For those of you who had enough of my rampants about the gasoline price hike, wait no more because this entry will be my last entry regarding the subsidy cancellation by government. One of the last pro-arguments that I haven’t answered is that we are actually facing a wide-scale of energy crisis. SBY himself said that at this rate (and projected rate) of oil consumption growth, we will use the last bit of our oil resources, 18 years from now.

Actually, what gives the government the rights to increase the gasoline price when the situation is over the edge just like now. Do they have rights to suddenly increase the gasoline price above 50%?

I think they have those rights since they are the government anyway (you know… people that boss around). But to think about it, don’t you think that they mostly act too little too soon? I mean, of course they have foreseen this comings from years ago and thus made them able to addressed them correctly.

By releasing the subsidy, they are actually doing the last resort they can find, by squeezing the very life out of their people. It is just useless to hire an advocate to do an advocacy and try to inform the people that we are on the brink on an energy crisis. You know why? Because they don’t f***ing care.

I care, most of well-educated people cared, but how much are they if compared to the whole society. Not to count the well-educated-people-but-refusing-to-use-their-head people which, I tell you, alot. So this made the argument of energy crisis a F.U.B.A.R.. You don’t advocate, you act! And by “act”, doesn’t mean you have to increase the gasoline price but providing an alternative source of energy or other means.

Increasing the gasoline price too much too soon will affect our national economy and in the end, it will slow growth (if not killing it all together). On the other hand, providing alternatives might enhance growth and better, foresee many other opportunities.
